Rain, Dinosaurs, and an Outdoor Escape Room This Week

Tuesday's rain is the worst of it. By Thursday you're looking at 21 degrees and clear skies, which matters if you're planning around anything outdoor.
Start inside. "SUE: THE T.REX EXPERIENCE ↗" is still running at TELUS Spark Science Centre. daily from 9 am. and it's the kind of exhibit that earns its ticket price if you haven't been yet. The cast is full-scale, the detail is unsettling in a good way, and the building itself is worth the trip to Discovery Ridge.
Over at Contemporary Calgary, "Ghazaleh Avarzamani: Churn, Earn, Burn and then Return ↗" runs through the week. Avarzamani's work sits in that uncomfortable space between labour and identity, and Contemporary Calgary gives it room to breathe. Free admission Wednesday evening if you time it right.
The Jubilee has "& Juliet (Touring) " Tuesday and Wednesday night at 7:30 pm. It's a jukebox musical built around Britney, Katy Perry, Ariana. high-energy, unapologetically pop, and better than its premise suggests. Wednesday is the last night of this run, so don't sit on it.
Then Thursday clears and Heritage Park has "Where Dark Things Dwell — Outdoor Escape Room ↗" Wednesday at 8:00 pm. Heritage Park after dark is a different place entirely — the buildings read differently without daylight, and this one leans into it. Worth the drive out if escape rooms are your thing; skip it if you need a warm room.
The Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers' Market runs Wednesday from 3:00 pm at 1320 5 Ave NW. It's smaller in September than July, but the produce is better.
