5 Ton Truck Driver - Calgary (Must have a recent Commercial Drivers Abstract)

*ABOUT 5-TON DRIVER:*

As a 5 Ton Driver at Frozen Solid, you will be an integral part of our dedicated team, responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of temperature-sensitive products. Your role encompasses driving a 5 ton truck, loading and unloading products, ensuring accurate documentation, and delivering exceptional customer service. This position reports directly to the logistics manager.

*POSITION KEY INFORMATION:*

_Work days: Monday to Friday _

_Start time: 5am-8am_

_Shift hours: 8 - 10 hours_

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

* Safely operate a 5-ton truck to deliver frozen and refrigerated products to designated locations in accordance with service delivery standards, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
* Monitor the operation of vehicle to ensure safe driving practices following applicable traffic laws.
* Ensure proper use and operation of all company equipment including vehicles and reefers
* Assist with the loading and unloading of products, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to maintain their integrity.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
* Complete accurate delivery logs, trip reports, and other required documentation using appropriate software, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
* Obtain signatures as needed.
* Perform basic maintenance tasks on the vehicle, such as checking oil, water, and tire pressure, and report any major maintenance needs to the appropriate department.

*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:*

* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, with a clean abstract.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience driving a 5 Ton truck.
* Food industry experience.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Basic computer skills for logistics tracking and documentation, ability to use Excel and the MS Office suite.
* Knowledge of using logistics and dispatch systems (Samsara) considered an asset.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*

* Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 70lb.
* Sitting for extended periods while driving.
* Climbing in and out of the truck and performing physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
* Standing, bending, and walking.
