Retail Key Holder (Part-Time)

*POSITION:*

The Key Holder serves as a vital part of the thrift store team, helping create a welcoming, organized, and productive environment for customers, donors, volunteers, and staff. As a trusted representative of the store, this role champions outstanding customer service while helping coordinate daily operations, including store opening and closing procedures, merchandising, cash handling, donation processing, and inventory flow. The Key Holder also supports the onboarding and training of new team members and helps coordinate volunteers to ensure a positive and productive experience for all. With a positive attitude and strong attention to detail, the Key Holder helps ensure the store operates efficiently while supporting WorldServe's mission of transforming lives through compassionate service, responsible stewardship, and meaningful community engagement.

*QUALIFICATIONS:*

* Ability to train, equip, and direct other staff and volunteers per the Managers instruction
* Ability to open and close the store
* Ability to manage banking deposits, returns, and other customer-related items
* Retail experience, strong preference for thrift/consignment experience
* Working knowledge of clothing (both current and vintage) fashion trends, household goods, and furniture values of strongly preferred
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to work at a steady pace in an active environment
* Ability to maintain a positive calm demeanor
* Ability to plan organize and carry out multiple work task
* Will be interacting with donors, receiving, sorting, pricing, quality control, stocking, and merchandising while striving to provide informed friendly, and excellent service.
* Demonstrated work ethic – consistency, punctuality, and thoroughness
* Able to work on the sales floor or warehouse setting in regular communication with the staff team, volunteers, and customers
* Efficient and diligent cash-handling capabilities

*PHYSICAL ABILITIES:*

* This position may require physical exertion in an environment that includes movement of a wide variety of goods, including furniture
* Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. as well as using appropriate lifting techniques & moving aids
* Ability to stand, walk, reach, and bend for most of the day; manual dexterity in kneeling, turning/twisting, use of hands, fingers
* Exposure to dust, grime, dirt, and outside weather conditions
* Ability to write/type information for others to read
* Agree to work in a smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free environment

* Other duties may be assigned as required.

* This retail thrift business is open six (6) days a week, requiring a flexible schedule, and availability to work weekends and/or evenings as needed.
