Senior AI Solutions Engineer

Network Innovations (NI) · Calgary, AB · posted 4 Nov 2026

*Job Purpose*

Network Innovations delivers mission-critical connectivity to customers who can't afford downtime – across satellite, cellular and terrestrial networks, in some of the world's most remote and demanding environments. We're hiring a Senior AI Solutions Engineer to help us put AI to work: improving how we operate, how we sell and how we support customers as they adopt AI themselves.

Reporting to the VP, AI Solutions and CISO, you'll join one of Canada's 100 largest privately owned technology firms as a senior individual contributor on our AI team. You'll work alongside business teams, technical colleagues and customers to take real problems from discovery through to working solutions, starting with Finance and NetSuite and growing from there.

The people who do well in this role take time to understand the real problem before reaching for a tool. They measure success by solutions people actually use, say so when AI isn't the right answer, and share what they build so others can do more on their own.

*Duties and Responsibilities*

* Learn how work gets done across business functions, remove unnecessary steps and build practical improvements in business applications, automation and reporting
* Improve proposal, research and sales workflows so teams can produce stronger customer responses and reuse what they learn
* Work with customer-facing and technical teams to understand emerging AI needs, and build demonstrations or small pilots that help us evaluate new opportunities
* Sit with the team that owns the work, map how it happens today and agree on the outcome, the owner and how success will be measured
* Bring back evidence, options and a recommendation, including when AI isn't the right tool or a process change is the better answer
* Agree acceptance criteria before building, and deliver secure, tested and well-documented solutions that follow our engineering, security and AI governance standards
* Define support and handover for each solution, and provide the agreed support after release
* Build reusable templates and integrations, and coach colleagues to experiment safely within our AI guidelines
* A willingness to live the company's core values: Integrity, Humility, Respect, and Determination.

*Qualifications*

* 6+ years of senior-level delivery experience in business applications, workflow automation, systems integration or software solutions; if you've built these skills through another path, we encourage you to apply
* A degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business or a related field or equivalent experience
* Hands-on, production use of AI tools and agents, including building with them, checking their outputs and knowing when they're the wrong tool
* A track record of taking a business problem from discovery to a solution people use, and supporting it afterward
* Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to find the real problem behind a request and explain trade-offs in plain language
* Strong SQL and scripting skills (Python or similar), and experience with APIs and system integration
* Working knowledge of how at least one business platform is customized
* Clear documentation habits and careful handling of sensitive data and credentials
* Eligibility to work in Canada; based in Calgary or willing to relocate, with occasional travel to offices and customer sites

*Nice to Have*

* NetSuite experience (SuiteFlow, SuiteScript, SuiteQL, saved searches, REST), or strong experience in another ERP
* Experience improving operations in finance, sales operations, proposals or service delivery
* Experience with Microsoft 365 automation, Power BI, Azure and Azure DevOps, and AI agent tools and protocols such as MCP
* Experience in an ISO 27001-certified or regulated environment, or in telecommunications, satellite or critical communications

*Working conditions*

Standard office hours are 8 am to 5 pm (ABT), however, work outside of regular office hours will be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software.

*Physical Requirements*

* The ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk while working on a computer or reviewing documents.
* The ability to use hands to manage and control a keyboard and mouse.
* The ability to understand and communicate clearly with others through speaking, listening, or writing.
* The ability to move around the office to attend meetings or retrieve documents.

*Benefits*

* Competitive salary
* Great culture. BBQs and company events!
* Employer-paid health, Dental, and Insurance plan
* Additional Life and Critical Illness insurance options
* Health Spending Account
* Employee Family Assistance Program (EAP)
* Company-matched RRSP or TFSA
* On-site Parking
* Hybrid work environment: 3 days in-office and 2 days remote per week.
* Full-time, Permanent
