Everything Calgary 4 August 2026 Written from today's listings

From death metal at The Arrowhead to Blue Rodeo at Grey Eagle, Calgary's next few days pack in more than you'd expect for early August.

Tuesday's evening slate sets the tone for a strong run into the weekend. If you like your guitars tuned down and your crowds enthusiastic, "KATAKLYSM & SIX FEET UNDER w/ WORMHOLE & SNAKEPIT " at The Arrowhead kicks off at 6 p.m. — a proper double-headliner bill with solid support. Meanwhile, the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium hosts "Thee Sacred Souls & The Womack Sisters " at 8 p.m., a soul and R&B pairing that should fill the Jubilee beautifully. And if you're more of a Canadian-rock-on-a-warm-evening type, "Blue Rodeo" plays Grey Eagle Event Centre tonight and again Wednesday — two chances to catch one of the country's most reliable live acts.

Wednesday stretches things out nicely. Raw Canvas runs "Calgary's Paint & Sip Experience at Raw Canvas: $45 Wednesday 1/2price rose" from 6:30 p.m. — half-price rosé is a reasonable midweek argument. Over at The Plant Place in Cochrane, the "ENCLOSED TROPICAL TERRARIUM WORKSHOP" offers a hands-on evening for anyone who wants to come home with something green. Yin yoga fans can head to The Psychology Group in Kensington for "Yin Yoga & Sound Bath Calgary | Stress Relief, Deep Relaxation & Healing " at 7 p.m.

Thursday brings professional women's football to Spruce Meadows, where "Calgary Wild FC v Club Soccer Mont-Royal Outremont" kicks off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday the 5th — worth putting in the diary early, as Spruce Meadows is a genuinely great place to watch a match on a warm evening.

Weather through the stretch looks manageable: mid-twenties and cloudy most days, which is fine for an outdoor walk or a patio pint before heading inside for a show. The "Photography Walk: Capture Calgary at Dawn" departs from Alt Hotel Calgary East Village at 7 p.m. Tuesday for anyone who wants to see the city differently before the week gets away from them.
