Access Control Technician (Installation & Programming)

*The role*

You're the hands-on technician who installs and programs access control systems on commercial sites. A typical week: pulling and terminating cable to doors, mounting readers and controllers, wiring electric strikes and door hardware, commissioning and programming the panel, then handing a working system to the customer.

*What you'll do*

* Install door controllers, card/fob readers, electric strikes, electrified locks, door position switches and REX devices
* Run, terminate, label and test low-voltage cable for access control, intercom and cameras
* Program access control panels and software: cardholders, schedules, door groups, alarm inputs, elevator and intercom integrations
* Install and configure IP intercom and IP camera / NVR systems
* Troubleshoot door hardware, wiring and controller faults on service calls
* Document completed work (device lists, as-builts, photos) in our job system

*Must have - we screen on every one of these*

* 3+ years hands-on experience installing AND programming commercial access control (Inner Range, ICT, Continental Access, Akuvox, Kantech, Avigilon/Openpath, Verkada or similar)
* Comfortable with door hardware: electric strikes, electrified locks, closers, door position switches
* Can read wiring diagrams and terminate/test low-voltage cable
* Live in Calgary and able to drive to job sites every day - valid Class 5 licence
* Legally entitled to work in Canada
* Clean criminal record check

*Nice to have*

* IP intercom (Akuvox, Comelit, Aiphone) and IP CCTV (Speco, IDIS, Axis)
* Intrusion panels (DSC, Honeywell)
* Basic device networking (static IPs, PoE, VLANs) for security equipment
* Electrical or locksmith trade background

* $30 - $37 per hour, based on experience
* Full-time, Monday to Friday, days
