Two Flames games, Cavalry soccer and a crowded Saturday night
What else is on this week
All Calgary events →The Flames are home twice, Cavalry FC plays Spruce Meadows in mild weather, and Saturday night has more good shows than you can reach.
The Flames are home after a road trip that ended with an overtime loss to the Kraken and still left people feeling good. You get them twice. Calgary Flames vs. Anaheim Ducks goes Friday at 7:00 pm. Sunday's game, Calgary Flames vs Philadelphia Flyers Presented by Mayfair Diagnostics , starts at 6:00 pm, so you're out of the Saddledome early. If I'm picking one, it's Sunday.
Friday's the hard night. Allison Russell: In The Hour of Chaos Tour and Disney Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas In Concert both start at 7:30 pm, and I'd take Russell at the Grey Eagle without thinking twice. You've seen the movie. You haven't seen her in that room. Still up at ten? Gorgon City is at The Palace Theatre.
Saturday starts outside. Cavalry FC play at ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows at 3:00 pm, and the forecast says 11 degrees and cloudy, which in November you don't turn down. Bring a toque anyway. It'll be dark by the drive home.
Back in town, Surf Hat w/ Skinny Dyck plays Modern Love at 5:00 pm, an early set that leaves the evening open. And the evening's packed. Tyler Braden - Days Of Gold Tour hits The Palace Theatre at 7:00 pm, SonReal - Here Goes Nothing Tour is at Commonwealth Bar at the same hour, and Dean Brody and The Reklaws Hometown Heroes Tour fills WinSport Event Centre at 7:30 pm. My vote's SonReal, mostly because Common Saturdays - Free RSVP starts at the same bar at 9:00 pm and you won't need a cab.
Skip Millarville on Saturday. The Millarville Christmas Market runs Thursday through Sunday, and fighting weekend traffic for it isn't worth it. Go Friday.
Then on Wednesday, the Cenovus Energy 2026 Grey Cup Festival opens at Stampede Park, with the Kick Off Party at BIG FOUR ROADHOUSE at 4:30 pm.
